Player Safety First

Responsible Gambling

Betting should be an enjoyable form of entertainment — not a source of stress, debt or harm. At 11pkr, we are committed to providing Pakistani players with the tools, knowledge and resources to keep gambling fun and firmly in control.

Adults Only
This platform is strictly for users aged 18 and above, or the minimum age required by the applicable operator or licence jurisdiction — whichever is higher.

Gambling Is Entertainment — Keep It That Way

Millions of people across Pakistan follow cricket, PSL T20 matches, ICC tournaments, football and other sports. For many, placing the occasional wager adds to the excitement of the game. That is perfectly fine — as long as gambling stays within healthy limits.

11pkr is an informational platform. We do not accept bets or process payments. But we take our responsibility to the Pakistani betting community seriously. This page brings together everything you need to understand responsible gambling — from recognising the early warning signs to knowing exactly what tools are available to keep you in control.

The Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 governs gambling activities in Pakistan. We do not offer legal advice. Users are solely responsible for understanding the laws applicable to them in their location. Please consult appropriate legal counsel if you are uncertain about your position.

The Golden Rules of Responsible Gambling
  • Only gamble with money you can genuinely afford to lose.
  • Set a strict budget before you start — and stick to it.
  • Never chase losses. Accept them as the cost of entertainment.
  • Take regular breaks, even during exciting matches like PSL finals.
  • Never gamble under the influence of alcohol or when emotionally stressed.
  • Treat winnings as a bonus, not income. Do not rely on gambling to pay bills.
Important: Gambling can become addictive. Problem gambling affects not just the individual but also their family and community. If gambling is no longer fun, it is time to seek help.

Tools That Keep You in Control

Reputable operators offer a range of practical tools designed to give players real control over their gambling activity. Here is what to look for.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can deposit. Once reached, no further funds can be added until the period resets. This is one of the single most effective tools for keeping gambling affordable — whether you are depositing via Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank transfer.

Loss Limits

A loss limit lets you define the maximum amount you are willing to lose over a given period. When your losses hit that ceiling, the platform automatically prevents further play. Setting a loss limit in PKR before every session removes the temptation to keep going after a bad run.

Time Limits & Session Reminders

Set a maximum session duration or receive periodic reminders of how long you have been playing. It is easy to lose track of time during a live PSL match — session alerts bring you back to reality and help you make a conscious decision about whether to continue.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is a formal request to block your own account for a defined period — commonly 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or permanently. During exclusion, you cannot log in, deposit or place bets. This tool is for players who recognise they need a serious break and want a hard boundary enforced.

Cooling-Off Periods

A cooling-off period is a shorter, temporary pause — typically 24 hours to 30 days. Unlike self-exclusion it does not go on any permanent record. Use it after a frustrating losing streak, a tense ICC final, or any moment when emotions are running high and rational decision-making feels difficult.

Reality Checks & Activity History

A full transaction and betting history gives you an honest picture of your activity over time. Reality check pop-ups remind you of net winnings or losses during a session. Transparent data about your own behaviour is one of the most powerful responsible gambling tools available.

Recognising Problem Gambling Early

Problem gambling rarely announces itself all at once. It tends to develop gradually — and by the time most people notice, patterns are already entrenched. The earlier you spot the signs, the easier it is to course-correct.

The warning signs below apply whether you are betting on cricket from Karachi, following UFC cards from Lahore, or playing live casino from Islamabad. Geography does not change the psychology of problem gambling.

Honest self-reflection matters. If three or more of the warning signs on this page resonate with you, we strongly encourage you to speak to someone you trust or reach out to a responsible gambling support resource.
01
Chasing Losses
Placing larger or more frequent bets to recover money already lost. This is one of the clearest hallmarks of problem gambling behaviour.
02
Gambling Beyond Your Means
Using money earmarked for rent, groceries, school fees or utility bills to fund gambling. Borrowing from family, friends or using salary advances to keep playing.
03
Inability to Stop
Repeatedly trying to cut down or quit gambling but finding it impossible. Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when not gambling.
04
Neglecting Responsibilities
Missing work, college or family commitments because of gambling. Prioritising betting sessions over social obligations or important personal relationships.
05
Secrecy and Deception
Hiding gambling activity from family members, lying about the amount of time or money spent, or feeling ashamed and defensive when the topic comes up.
06
Emotional Dependency
Using gambling as a way to escape problems, relieve stress, or manage difficult emotions. Feeling a high from gambling that is increasingly hard to achieve without raising the stakes.
07
Escalating Stakes
Needing to bet increasingly large amounts — moving from PKR 500 bets to PKR 5,000 or PKR 25,000 bets — to feel the same level of excitement or satisfaction.

Quick Self-Check

Read each question honestly. If you find yourself answering "yes" to several of them, it may be worth talking to a professional support service.

Have you ever gambled for longer or with more money than you originally planned?
Have you ever lied to family or friends about how much time or money you spend gambling?
Have you ever gambled to escape worry, boredom, loneliness or feelings of helplessness?
Have you ever tried to win back money you lost gambling by gambling more?
Has gambling ever caused you to miss work, university, family events or important commitments?
Have you ever borrowed money or sold possessions to fund your gambling?
Do you feel restless, irritable or anxious when you try to cut down or stop gambling?
Has gambling ever put a strain on an important relationship in your life?
This self-check is for informational purposes only and is not a clinical diagnosis. If you have concerns about your gambling, please reach out to a qualified mental health professional or a recognised gambling support service.

How to Self-Exclude From an Operator

Self-exclusion is a serious step — and a courageous one. Requesting it from a licensed operator typically follows a straightforward process. Here is what to expect.

Once active, self-exclusion cannot be reversed immediately. Most operators enforce a minimum cooling-off period even if you request early reinstatement — this is a deliberate safeguard, not an obstacle.
1
Log into your operator account
Navigate to your account settings or responsible gambling section. Most regulated operators provide this under a dedicated "Player Safety" or "Responsible Gambling" menu.
2
Select self-exclusion and choose a duration
Common options are 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years or permanent. Choose the period that reflects the seriousness of your situation. When in doubt, opt for longer.
3
Confirm and receive written acknowledgement
You should receive an email or in-app confirmation. Keep this as a record. Your account will typically be blocked immediately or within a short processing window.
4
Contact support if the option is not visible
If you cannot locate the self-exclusion tool, contact the operator's live chat or support email directly. Regulated operators are required to process self-exclusion requests promptly via any available channel.
5
Block gambling sites on your devices
Consider installing filtering software on your phone or computer to prevent access to gambling sites during your exclusion period, adding an extra layer of protection for moments of temptation.

Support Resources

You do not have to deal with problem gambling alone. Recognised support organisations offer confidential help, counselling and practical guidance — many at no cost.

GamCare
International support service offering free information, advice and counselling for anyone affected by problem gambling. Available online and via helpline.
Gamblers Anonymous
A worldwide fellowship of men and women who share their experience to help solve their common problem and recover from a gambling disorder.
BeGambleAware
Provides information and guidance to help people make informed decisions about their gambling and offers pathways to support services.
Mental Health Support
Problem gambling is closely linked to mental health. In Pakistan, speaking to a qualified psychologist or counsellor — available in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other major cities — is a strong first step.
11pkr provides the above resource names for informational purposes only. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or financially connected to any of the organisations listed. Please conduct your own research to verify current contact details and availability in your region.

Concerned About Someone Else?

Problem gambling does not only affect the person placing the bets. Family members, partners and close friends often carry a significant emotional and financial burden. If you are worried about someone you care about, the following guidance may help.

  • Start with an open, non-judgmental conversation. Shame and secrecy make problem gambling worse, not better.
  • Avoid lending money to fund gambling, even if it feels like the kind or compassionate thing to do. It rarely helps and often extends the problem.
  • Encourage the person to use self-exclusion tools and set deposit or loss limits on their operator accounts.
  • Seek support for yourself too — being close to someone with a gambling problem is emotionally draining. Organisations like GamCare offer dedicated support for family members.
  • If there is immediate risk to financial security or personal wellbeing, consider involving a qualified counsellor or mental health professional.
